Park Farm, Stevington
Park Farm at Stevington is a proper deep, steady River Great Ouse member water, tucked upstream of Oakley Weir. It fishes very differently from the usual upper Ouse, with excellent roach sport and a cracking mix of perch, pike and bream.

We don't publish an "ideal level" — nobody can promise one. Flood water is dangerous: if it's up and coloured, stay well back from the edge. Open River Ready
The lowdown
- This is a wide, deep and slow stretch. The club describes it as untypical of the upper Great Ouse, so expect a more settled, reservoir-like feel than a typical shallow river run.
- The middle section averages about 12ft deep at one rod-length. The top and bottom ends are a touch shallower, giving you a bit more variation when choosing a swim.
- That depth keeps the river relatively weed-free through summer. Handy stuff for presenting a bait without constantly dragging greenery back.
- The club says any peg can produce, so there is no single magic corner to obsess over. Have a wander and look for small changes in flow, depth and the crease.
- Roach are the headline act. Fishing is described as excellent throughout the season, with double-figure bags taken by both pleasure and match anglers.
- Bleak can be a proper nuisance if you are aiming for something else. It may take some thought around bait choice and presentation when the little fish are on the munch.
- Perch over 3lb have been caught, while pike have reached the mid-double figures. Bream are present too, including a reported match haul of more than 20lb in the last hour during 2023-24.
- For access, members may drive down the track and park by the boat club, as shown on the club map. The track can be difficult in wet weather, and use is at your own risk.
- If the track is a faff, park at Oakley Bridge and walk upstream. It is about 620 metres to the bottom of the stretch over flat terrain — bob on for travelling light with a float or feeder setup.
- We're not sure on ticket prices for this one — check with the club or local regulations before you leave.
Methods: Float fishing and feeder work look the natural starting points here, especially for the roach and bream. For perch or pike, pick a swim carefully around the deeper water and keep an eye on the bleak situation.
