Joining a fishing club

A club book is often the cheapest way to get on loads of water — rivers, canals and lakes for a year for less than a handful of day tickets. Search by town or river to see which clubs hold rights nearby, then check their own pages for current membership prices and rules.

Club waters usually come with a few extra rules (membership card on you, night-fishing restrictions, bait bans), so have a read before your first trip. Bailiffs are generally a friendly bunch and a great source of tips.
