Llangadog Towy Water
Llangadog Towy Water gives you roughly two miles of upper Tywi fishing, split between an upper beat and the longer main beat below Manordeilo railway bridge. It’s proper traditional Tywi water, with pools, runs and holding spots for salmon, sea trout and brown trout.

The lowdown
- The club water is divided into two beats, giving you a decent spread of river to explore rather than just one short section.
- The upper beat sits above and below Llangadog river bridge, with around a quarter of a mile of left-bank fishing.
- The main beat is the bigger prospect at roughly 1.5 miles, running from Railway Bridge Pool down to the bottom bend.
- Crewil Pool is the headline swim here. It’s described as one of the river’s best holding pools, so naturally it’s a spot worth giving proper time.
- There are several other pools and runs through the main beat. Have a wander, read the water and look for the creases, deeper pots and steady glides.
- This is classic Tywi-style fishing, with enough variety for traditional salmon and sewin approaches. Pool work, searching runs and covering likely lies are all part of the game.
- The 24-hour ticket runs from 7am to 7am. That gives you a full day, plus the chance to carry on into the night for sea trout.
- Night fishing is explicitly allowed on this beat, which is a cracking bonus when the sewin are on the munch and conditions look right.
- The water is easily accessible, with parking areas and beat access points shown on the fishing map. From the parking, expect gentle walks down to the river.
- Only five day-ticket anglers are allowed per day. It’s still club water, though, so absolute exclusivity isn’t guaranteed. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control.
Methods: A proper mixed Tywi approach suits it: work the pools for salmon and sea trout, then cover the runs and glides. The 24-hour ticket also opens the door to night-time sea-trout fishing.
