River Wye in Gloucestershire
2 checked stretches so far — day tickets, club waters and guest tickets, each checked against the club's own pages.
The lowdown
The Wye in Herefordshire includes proper urban fishing in Hereford itself. Belmont’s south-bank water pairs a busy city-centre setting and tarmac paths with a deep, steady run — a useful reminder that a river session here needn’t mean heading out into the countryside.
There’s a broad mix of fish listed for this part of the Wye, from roach and perch to chub, barbel and specimen carp. Match fishing is part of the picture too, so checking fixtures and ticket restrictions is a sensible bit of planning before a Hereford river trip.
Close season reminder
Coarse fishing on English rivers is closed from 15 March to 15 June inclusive. That's the law for coarse fish on rivers — it's not a club rule, and game-fishing seasons work differently.

Cadora (Angling Dreams)
River Wye · Day ticket
Cadora is a cracking right-bank beat on the River Wye near Redbrook, a few miles downstream of Monmouth. It runs for just under a mile through mature pine forest, with prime coarse fishing and seasonal salmon fishing on offer.
Species not listed by the club.

Cadora Backs
River Wye · Day ticket or guest ticket
Cadora Backs is a roughly half-mile, left-bank beat on the lower Wye, midway between Wyesham and Bigsweir. It’s primarily salmon water, fishing best when the river drops low and clear — proper handy if you like working a pool rather than flogging miles of bank.
Species not listed by the club.

We don't publish an "ideal level" — nobody can promise one. Flood water is dangerous: if it's up and coloured, stay well back from the edge. Open River Ready
Tips & reports
Our take (editorial, not club advice): on any decent-sized river, a lead that holds bottom without dragging is half the battle — go up in weight before you go up in bait. A bit of extra colour after rain often brings barbel and bream closer in, but a fast-rising, debris-filled river is dangerous; if in doubt, don't. Weather tools built for still lakes don't translate neatly to rivers, so we haven't bolted a lake-style weather score on here.
No angler reports on these stretches yet — we'll only show real ones once our moderated river reports are live.
