Who it suits

Is it right for you?

Great for

  • Predator anglers carrying several lure categories. The boxes, main compartment and dividers let you separate hardbaits, soft plastics, traces and tools without chucking the lot into one messy sack.
  • Anglers using a barrow or fishing from a bedchair setup. Its size and layout make sense when the bag is being transported with other tackle rather than lugged miles in a light roving approach.

Maybe skip if

  • Fast-moving lure anglers travelling ultra-light. A smaller sling or compact lure bag will be less faff when you’re hopping between swims with only the essentials.
  • Anyone wanting fully waterproof storage. This is a structured carryall rather than a sealed dry bag, so wet-weather protection for phones, spare clothing and paperwork needs a bit of thought.

Quick verdict

Verdict

The Fox Rage Predator Carryall is a cracking bit of predator luggage if you like carrying a proper spread of lures, tools and accessories. The included medium tackle boxes are a big bonus, while the internal Velcro dividers stop the main compartment becoming one giant jumble.

It’s a sizeable carryall, though, so it’s better suited to planned sessions, a barrow or a swim where you can keep your gear together than quick roving with just a lure box and a pair of pliers.

The full rundown

Everything you'll want to know about the Fox Rage Predator Carryall

Predator fishing can look wonderfully simple from the outside. A rod, a reel, a few lures and away you go. Then you start adding spare traces, cutters, forceps, leaders, jig heads, soft plastics, hardbaits, gloves and a landing net. Suddenly your “light” session needs half the car boot. That’s where the Fox Rage Predator Carryall comes in.

The FLU008 is a proper, sizeable tackle bag, measuring 62 × 42 × 30 cm. In other words, this isn’t a tiny sling you sling over one shoulder while stalking the margins. It’s built for the angler who wants a complete predator setup together, tidy and ready to grab when the rods are off and a fish needs sorting quickly.

The headline feature is the pair of end pockets, each supplied with a medium tackle box. That’s dead handy because predator tackle soon becomes a right muddle without a system. Keep hard lures in one box, terminal bits in another, or split your gear by species and venue. You’ll spend less time rummaging and more time keeping that lure working properly.

Those end pockets can also accommodate a Fox Edges Medium Box. That gives the bag a bit of flexibility if you already run Edges boxes for terminal tackle, leads or rig components. It’s a sensible touch for anglers whose kit isn’t all from one neat range. We all end up with a slightly odd collection of boxes, don’t we?

The main compartment is where the larger and less box-friendly items go. Two Velcro dividers let you section it up, so a set of scales, spare clothing, bait pots, gloves or bigger predator accessories don’t all slide into one heap. The dividers are especially useful when you’re moving between styles, such as lure fishing in the morning and deadbaiting later on.

There’s a front pocket for accessories and tools, which is exactly where you want that sort of storage. Keep pliers, cutters, forceps, line scissors or trace-making bits up front, rather than buried underneath three lure boxes. When a pike is at the net, quick access matters. Nobody wants to be performing a full luggage excavation while a fish is waiting.

Carrying options are nicely covered, too. You get a padded carry strap for longer walks and two side carry handles for lifting the bag into a car, onto a barrow or across a swim. The design is intended for use on a barrow or under a bedchair, so it fits a more organised session where your luggage stays close rather than following you every few casts.

The material mix is 75% polyester, 15% polyethylene and 10% PVC. That should give the bag a structured, tackle-friendly feel, but it’s best thought of as luggage rather than a watertight holdall. Keep phones, licences and spare layers in a dry pouch if the forecast is looking a bit grim. A soggy notebook is a proper naff way to start the day.

The big question is whether you need this much capacity. If your predator fishing means carrying several lure boxes and plenty of tools, it’s a bob-on match. If you’re travelling light and covering miles of bank, the size could feel like more bag than you need. For organised anglers, though, it offers a cracking way to keep the whole setup together, with fewer loose bits rolling around the footwell or hiding under the unhooking mat.

Our take

The angle

This isn’t a minimalist sling for travelling light. It’s a full-on tackle hauler for predator anglers who want a tidy system and room for the bits that often end up rattling around loose.

The clever part is how the bag works around those end pockets. Both are supplied with medium tackle boxes, and each pocket can also accommodate a Fox Edges Medium Box, giving you a useful bit of flexibility when sorting lures, traces and terminal tackle.

A tidy home for a full predator setup

Closer look at the Fox Rage Predator Carryall

The FLU008 is built around practical storage rather than minimalist travel. Its 62 × 42 × 30 cm footprint gives you a roomy main compartment, two end pockets and a front accessory pocket. The two included medium tackle boxes are the star of the show, giving you an instant way to separate lures and terminal tackle.

Inside, the two Velcro dividers help turn the main compartment into more useful sections. That’s handy for larger items that don’t belong in lure boxes, such as tools, gloves, spare layers or bait-related bits. The dividers can also stop everything sliding into one corner when the bag gets moved around.

Worth knowing. The end pockets can accommodate a Fox Edges Medium Box as well as the supplied medium tackle boxes. If you already have Edges boxes in your kit, check your preferred layout before loading the bag so you’re not carrying duplicate storage for no reason.

Capacity versus mobility

Who should buy it?

This is a good fit for predator anglers who like being prepared. Pike, perch and zander tackle can soon spread across a seatbox or barrow, particularly when you carry different lure types, spare traces and unhooking tools. The front pocket keeps frequently used accessories close, while the boxes give the small stuff a proper home.

It also makes sense for anglers fishing from a fixed swim, using a bedchair or moving kit by barrow. The side handles make lifting straightforward, and the padded strap gives you another option when crossing the bank. Just remember that a big carryall becomes less cheerful once it’s filled with boxes and every “just in case” bit of kit.

For a mobile, cast-and-walk approach, be more selective. You might only need one lure box, pliers and a few traces, making a compact sling or smaller bag less faff. The Fox Rage Carryall earns its keep when you’ll use the capacity, not when most of it stays empty.

The stuff you’ll want to know

Fox Rage Predator Carryall FAQs

Can I use it for coarse fishing? You can, especially for anglers carrying feeder accessories, method moulds, spare reels or lots of terminal tackle. But the layout and included boxes are aimed at predator fishing, so coarse anglers may prefer a dedicated carryall with a layout built around their own rigs.

How should you organise the boxes? A simple split works well: one for hard lures and one for soft plastics, jig heads or terminal components. Keep cutters and forceps in the front pocket, then use the divided main compartment for bulkier gear. That way, a screaming take doesn’t turn into a frantic search for the pliers.

Is it suitable for wet weather? It should be treated as protective tackle luggage, not a sealed dry bag. The polyester, polyethylene and PVC material mix offers a structured outer, but anything that must stay bone dry deserves an extra waterproof pouch inside.

On paper

Pros & cons

What we like

  • Two medium tackle boxes are included, so you can get organised straight away.
  • Large main compartment with two adjustable Velcro dividers.
  • Useful front pocket for tools and smaller accessories.
  • Can be carried by the padded strap or side handles, and works on a barrow or under a bedchair.

Worth knowing

  • The generous size may be overkill for short, roving lure sessions.
  • A fully loaded bag could become bulky to carry between swims.
  • The listed material mix doesn’t suggest a fully waterproof dry bag, so protect vulnerable kit in proper waterproof pouches.
