Maybe skip if
- Occasional pleasure anglers. The 16m reach and full package will be more kit and cost than you need for a few short sessions each year.
- Anglers on a tight budget. With an official RRP of £3,464.99, this is a proper investment rather than a cheap route into pole fishing.

Quick verdict
A serious all-round match package
The Garbolino UK2 Essential Pro is aimed squarely at modern UK match anglers who want one properly equipped pole package for carp, F1s and demanding river work. Seven pre-bushed Match Carp Puller Kits, a Potkit and the useful half extension make it a very complete setup straight from the off.
It’s a big-ticket purchase, make no mistake, but the contents are built around real match fishing rather than padding out a box. If you’re stepping up to 16m fishing and want plenty of ready-to-go top kits, this looks like a cracking, versatile package.

The full rundown
Everything you'll want to know about the Garbolino UK2 Essential Pro 16m Fishing Pole Package
The Garbolino UK2 Essential Pro 16m isn’t messing about. This is a full-on match pole package for anglers who want serious reach, a stack of top kits and the flexibility to change tactics without packing half the tackle shop into the van.
At the sharp end, you’re getting a 16m pole with a half extension that lets you fish at 13m, 14.5m or the full 16m. That’s properly handy on the bank. You can pick the length that suits the swim, the tow, the far bank or simply how much room you’ve got behind you.
The package is clearly aimed at modern UK match fishing, where carp and F1s can turn up in numbers and the pace can go from quiet to carnage in a heartbeat. At 16m, you’ve got the reach for those awkward far-bank lines, open-water tracks and long-range commercial pegs where a shorter pole just leaves you fishing in the cheap seats.
There’s plenty here for carp anglers, too. The seven Match Carp Puller Kits give you a substantial batch of top kits to prepare for different elastics, rigs and target fish. That matters when one line is producing F1s on a delicate setup, while another is holding a lump that needs a bit more control.
All the kits are pre-bushed and ready for elastication, so the basic preparation work is already sorted. You’ll still need to choose and fit the elastic that matches your fishing, of course, but you’re not starting with a bare collection of sections and a load of fiddly jobs before the rods are off.
The puller kits feature PTFE puller slots, which is exactly the sort of detail you want when a proper carp has got its head down. A puller slot gives you a controlled way to apply pressure and guide a fish away from snags, keep it moving and get it over the net without turning the fight into total bosh.
Number 3 sections have EVA nose cones, adding a practical bit of protection around an area that sees plenty of handling. On match days, sections are in and out, laid down, picked up and passed around the peg. Small details like this can make the whole routine feel less precious and less faffy.
The butt sections also have precise feed marker points. That should appeal to anglers who like their baiting and feeding to be repeatable. Clip up your line, find the same marker and you’ve got a much better chance of putting feed back on the same spot rather than spraying it all over the swim when the pressure is on.
The package isn’t only about commercials. Garbolino positions it for long-range river fishing with delicate rigs as well, so there’s room for more refined work when the venue calls for it. The ability to fish shorter at 13m or 14.5m is useful here, particularly when conditions make the full 16m a bit of a handful.
You also get a Potkit and a deluxe holdall, rounding out the package for anglers who want a tidy, ready-to-organise setup. It’s compatible with Garbolino UK Series poles too, which is handy if you’re already in that family and want your top kits and pole gear to play nicely together.
The elephant in the swim is the official £3,464.99 RRP. That’s serious money and puts this firmly in the committed match angler bracket. But the package isn’t pretending to be a basic pole with one top kit. You’re paying for a complete system with seven Match Carp Puller Kits, a Potkit, multiple fishing lengths and the storage to keep it all together.
So, who should look at it? If you’re regularly fishing matches, targeting carp and F1s, and want the reach to fish 16m lines properly, it makes a lot more sense than a bare pole. If you mainly fish short canals or enjoy the odd relaxed session, mate, this could be a bit like taking a van to pick up a pint of milk.

Our take
Why the kit count matters
The clever bit here isn’t simply the 16m length. It’s the number of useful, ready-to-elasticate kits included. That gives you a much easier route into setting up different rigs for carp, F1s and finer river work without immediately needing to buy extra top kits.
With puller slots, EVA nose cones and precise feed marker points built into the package, it’s clearly designed for anglers who want repeatable, organised fishing on busy match days. Less faff at the peg means more time with the rig in the right spot.
What you’re buying
A ready-to-build match setup
The headline is the 16m pole, but the package is really about the support kit around it. You get a half extension for 13m, 14.5m and 16m fishing, seven Match Carp Puller Kits, one Potkit and a deluxe holdall. That gives you plenty of scope to set up different lines for carp, F1s and river fishing.
The kits are pre-bushed and ready for elastication. Puller kits feature PTFE puller slots, number 3 sections have EVA nose cones, and the butt sections have precise feed marker points. Those are all useful touches for repeatable, organised match fishing.
Worth knowing. The half extension isn’t just extra pole in the holdall. Being able to fish 13m, 14.5m or 16m lets you adjust to the peg and conditions, rather than forcing every swim to fit one fixed length.
Match-day thinking
Built for anglers with plenty of lines to cover
This is best suited to serious match anglers fishing modern commercials, carp venues and F1 waters. The multiple puller kits mean you can prepare different elastics and rigs in advance, then switch when the fish change their mind. That’s dead handy when a bite-time suddenly arrives.
It also has a place in long-range river fishing, particularly when you want to fish delicate rigs at distance. The shorter settings make it more flexible than a pole that only really makes sense at full length.
Worth knowing. If your usual fishing is a short canal line or occasional pleasure session, don’t get dazzled by the kit count. You may be better off with a shorter, simpler package and a few quid left for bait and tickets.
