Who it suits

Is it right for you?

Great for

  • Carp anglers who tie their own rigs. You get a broad selection of components for building and tweaking presentations to suit the lakebed, bait and rules.
  • Anglers who like a tidy bank setup. The loaded box keeps loads of small terminal bits together instead of rattling around loose in a tackle pouch.

Maybe skip if

  • Beginners wanting finished rigs. This is a component kit, so you’ll need to understand the basics of tying, stripping coated braid and assembling rigs.
  • Anglers who use one fixed presentation every session. If you only ever fish a single hooklink and lead setup, much of the box may sit untouched.

Quick verdict

A cracking box of rig bits for the organised carp angler

The OMC Mixed Grill packs a serious spread of carp-rig components into one grab-and-go box. You’ve got hooks, coated braid, tungsten tubing, aligners, beads, clips, swivels and crimps all in the same kit.

It’s not a box of finished rigs ready to chuck straight out. It’s a proper tying station in miniature, so there’s some faff involved. But if you like matching rigs to spots, baits and hookbaits, it’s a very handy way to keep the essentials together.

The full rundown

Everything you'll want to know about the One More Cast Loaded Ready-Made Rigs

If your rig box is currently a jumble of half-empty packets, loose swivels and one very tired pair of scissors, the One More Cast Loaded Ready-Made Rigs kit could bring a bit of order to the madness. This is the OMC Mixed Grill loaded tackle box, and it’s basically a compact carp-rig workshop. Not a packet of finished rigs. A proper stash of bits for building your own.

That distinction matters, mate. You’re not opening the box, tying on a hooklink and firing it straight towards the island. You’re getting the ingredients to make and tweak presentations yourself. That means more control, more options and, yes, a little more faff. For anyone who likes adjusting a rig to suit the spot, though, that’s half the fun.

The main hooklink material is 10 metres of Blend coated braid rated at 25lb. That gives you a solid starting point for a range of carp rigs, especially when you want a coated section that can be stripped back around the hook or used with an aligner-style presentation. There’s also 2 metres of Blend tungsten tubing for pinning the business end down and helping keep everything neat.

Hook choice is nicely covered. You get Surrender Cassien barbed hooks and Surrender Horseshoe barbless hooks, both in sizes 4 and 6. That gives you a couple of useful sizes for different hookbaits and carp sizes, while the barbed and barbless split helps you match the fishery rules. Always check those rules before tying up, mind. Getting that wrong is a proper schoolboy error.

The aligner selection is where the box starts to feel properly versatile. There are Dazzler Bloodliner, Cornaliner, Wormaliner and Magoliner aligners, plus five large Bloodliner Curve aligners. So whether you’re fishing a bottom bait, corn, worm or maggot-style hookbait, there are purpose-shaped options to help create the right angle and movement at the hook.

You also get 10 Dazzler long-distance hookbeads and 20 Tweakers bait blobs. Those are the sort of small parts that can make a big difference when you’re trying to keep a hookbait secure, position a bait properly or add a bit of adjustment to the presentation. They’re easy to lose in the grass, so keep the box shut between rigs. Ask me how I know — well, don’t, but you get the picture.

For the lead end, the kit includes 18 Vitabitz Dome Sinkers, three Vitabitz Run Rig Kits, five Vitabitz Pin Lead Clips and five tail rubbers. That’s a useful spread for adapting the setup to the swim. A running lead can be handy when you want the fish to pick up the bait with minimal resistance, while a lead clip gives you a more familiar, tidy arrangement around weed or snags.

The small terminal tackle is covered too, with size 18 micro-ring swivels, size 8 QC swivels, Vitabitz spinner-ring swivels and anti-tangle sleeves. There are also 20 crimps in 0.6mm and 20 in 0.7mm, plus 0.3 metres of Vitabitz Simply Silicone. That’s a lot of the fiddly stuff that usually disappears into the bottom of a tackle pouch just when the rods are off.

The real appeal is flexibility. You can tie a fairly standard coated-braid rig, add an aligner, build a spinner-style presentation or put together a running-lead setup without carrying a tackle shop around in three separate boxes. It suits the angler who enjoys being prepared for changing spots, hookbaits and conditions.

There are a couple of catches. You’ll still need the basics to work with it: scissors, a stripper tool, a lighter or suitable way to finish certain materials, and a bit of rig knowledge. The box also contains enough different parts to make a complete beginner scratch their head. But take a little time to learn what each bit does and it becomes a very useful bit of kit. For a carp angler who likes options without total tackle chaos, it’s a bob-on package.

Our take

The big angle

This is less about one magic rig and more about giving you loads of ways to build reliable carp presentations. From a straightforward coated-braid bottom bait rig to a spinner-style arrangement or a run rig, there’s plenty here to get you sorted.

The strongest bit is the variety. The weaker bit is that you’ll need to know what each component does and carry a few extra tools, such as scissors, strippers and a rig tool, to make the most of it.

What you’re buying

A full spread of carp-rig components

The Mixed Grill is a component box rather than a set of finished rigs. Inside are 10m of 25lb Blend coated braid, 2m of Blend tungsten tubing, barbed and barbless hooks, multiple aligner styles, hookbeads, bait blobs and a stack of lead-end parts.

The Dazzler range is particularly useful if you fish different hookbaits. Bloodliner, Cornaliner, Wormaliner and Magoliner aligners let you tailor the hook area, while the larger Bloodliner Curve aligners offer another way to influence the angle and mechanics of the presentation.

At the business end, you’ve got run rig kits, pin lead clips, tail rubbers, dome sinkers, QC swivels, micro-ring swivels, spinner-ring swivels and anti-tangle sleeves. The crimps and silicone add further options for making more customised rigs.

Worth knowing. Keep the barbed and barbless hooks separated, and check the fishery rules before you tie anything up. Component colours may vary, so don’t expect every box to look identical.

Best on the bank

For anglers who like to adapt

This kit makes most sense for carp anglers who change things around depending on the lakebed, spot and bait. A neat coated-braid rig may suit a clean area, while tubing, a different aligner or a running lead could be more appropriate when the swim calls for it.

It’s also handy for anglers who fish venues with different rules. Having Cassien barbed and Horseshoe barbless hooks in sizes 4 and 6 gives you a bit of flexibility, provided you’re using the correct pattern for the venue.

Beginners can use it as a starting point, but don’t expect everything to explain itself. Spend a little time learning how the hookbeads, blobs, sinkers, sleeves and swivels work together. Once you’ve cracked that, you can build rigs with much more confidence.

Quick answers

The bits you’ll want clear

Is it suitable for coarse match fishing? It’s primarily a carp-rig component kit, with the line strength, hook patterns and presentation parts aimed at carp-style fishing rather than delicate float or feeder work.

What should you add to your tackle pouch? A sharp pair of scissors, a coated-braid stripping tool, a rig tool and a safe way to finish or soften materials will make tying much easier. A small organiser for used or opened components is handy too.

Can you use the kit for margin fishing? Yes. The components can be used to build tidy presentations for the margins, though the exact rig should match the bottom, weed and snag situation. Keep everything compact and avoid leaving unnecessary loose parts around the hook.

Worth knowing. Don’t chuck every component onto one rig just because it’s in the box. Start simple, keep the hook area clean and only add an aligner, bead, blob or sleeve when it has a clear job to do.

Pros & cons

What we like

  • Loads of useful carp-rig components in one box.
  • Good spread of hook sizes and barbed or barbless options.
  • Includes parts for several popular rig styles, including spinner and running-lead arrangements.
  • Dead handy for keeping small terminal bits together on the bank.

Worth knowing

  • It’s not plug-and-play: you still need to tie and assemble the rigs yourself.
  • There’s a lot to sort through, so it can feel a bit faffy if you only fish one simple rig.
  • You may still want extra hooklink tools and spare terminal bits for longer sessions.
