Who it suits
Is it right for you?
Great for
- Solo carp anglers wanting a compact but properly protective bivvy. The RS 100 keeps the footprint and shelter weight more manageable while still offering the full Aquatexx package.
- Long-session anglers who want room for a bed, kit and a bit of breathing space. The RS 150 and especially RS 200 provide much more living space, with useful storage and rod-management touches built in.
Maybe skip if
- Roaming anglers who move swims constantly. Even the RS 100 is a substantial shelter package, while the bigger models add serious weight and packed length.
- Anglers with tiny swims or limited barrow space. The RS 150 and RS 200 need generous room both pitched and during transport, so they can be a bit much on cramped venues.

Quick verdict
Verdict
The Trakker Tempest RS is a proper bit of kit for anglers who want a dependable shelter rather than a flimsy fair-weather brolly. Its 25,000mm Aquatexx fabric, adaptive ventilation and built-in blackout pigment make it well suited to long sessions, grim weather and those awkward nights when the rain just won’t pack it in.
The RS 100 is the sensible solo choice, while the RS 150 and RS 200 offer loads more room for bigger beds, kit and family-style sessions. It’s not the lightest shelter around, and the packed weights are worth respecting, but the package is impressively complete. Proper carp-camp comfort, without loads of extra faff.

Aquatexx fabric, a GRP composite block, Rapid Knuckle System and a well-equipped package give it a properly premium feel.
The 25,000mm material, adaptive ventilation and blackout pigment are all useful for staying comfortable through changeable conditions.
It won’t put a lump on the mat by itself, but reliable shelter, tidy storage and less weather faff help you stay focused on the rods.
Quicksticks, T-pegs, tension strap and magnetic rod straps make the setup practical, although the larger models need more handling.
The included accessories and three-size choice add value, though the heavier RS 150 and RS 200 are a bigger commitment for mobile anglers.

The full rundown
Everything you'll want to know about the Trakker Tempest RS Bivvy
A decent bivvy can make or break a session, mate. Get one that’s cramped, leaky or a pain to put up and every rain shower becomes a little mission. The Trakker Tempest RS is aimed squarely at anglers who want proper shelter for carp sessions, with a choice of three sizes and a spec sheet that’s clearly built for rougher weather.
At the heart of the range is Trakker’s multilayer Aquatexx material, rated to a 25,000mm hydrostatic head. That’s a serious level of water protection for the sort of sideways rain that turns a lovely lake into a grey, miserable soup. It’s the kind of fabric you want when the rods are out for a couple of nights and the forecast has started looking a bit dodgy.
The range comes in RS 100, RS 150 and RS 200 versions. The RS 100 is the compact solo bivvy, measuring 145cm high, 265cm wide and 220cm deep. Its shelter weight is 9.4kg, with a total packed weight of 14.6kg. That’s still proper bivvy territory, but manageable for anglers who want to keep the footprint sensible.
Step up to the RS 150 and you get 150cm of height, 320cm of width and 230cm of depth. The shelter weighs 11.2kg, while the total packed weight is 16.8kg. This is the middle-ground option, giving you more elbow room for a bedchair, luggage and bits of tackle without going completely massive on the bank.
Then there’s the big dog: the RS 200. At 170cm high, 380cm wide and 290cm deep, it’s a seriously roomy shelter. The shelter weight is 13.8kg and the total packed weight reaches 20.2kg. That’s not a cheeky little overnighter shelter, obviously. It’s for anglers who want space to spread out, or who regularly do longer sessions where comfort starts to matter as much as keeping the rods on the spot.
The frame setup uses an advanced GRP composite block and Rapid Knuckle System. In plain English, that’s the structural heart of the bivvy, helping the shelter form a strong, practical shape without turning the setup into a full-on faff-fest. You’ve also got Quicksticks and T-pegs included, which means fewer extra bits to buy before you can get properly sorted.
There are some nice everyday touches here, too. Four internal storage pockets give you somewhere to keep alarms, headtorch, keys and other small essentials instead of letting them vanish beneath the bedchair. Two magnetic rod straps are handy when you’re getting the shelter up or breaking camp, keeping the rods tucked out of the way rather than leaning against a muddy bucket.
Adaptive ventilation is built into the design, and so is blackout pigment. That combination should help make the inside more comfortable through changing weather and brighter mornings. The blackout side is particularly welcome in summer, when the sun starts blasting through the bivvy far earlier than your bite-time alarm.
The package is rounded off with a clear window, tension strap, groundsheet and oversized heavy-duty carry bag. That’s a good chunk of kit included from the off. Just remember the packed lengths: 129cm × 24cm for the RS 100, 141cm × 25cm for the RS 150 and 163cm × 25cm for the RS 200. The bigger models need proper barrow space, but if you’ve got room, the Tempest RS looks a cracking choice for comfortable, weather-ready carp fishing.

Our take
The big angle
This is a shelter range built around adaptability. You can choose a compact solo footprint or go properly roomy, while still getting the same high-spec Aquatexx protection, GRP composite block and Rapid Knuckle System.
The clever touches matter on the bank, too. Magnetic rod straps, internal storage pockets, a clear window and Quicksticks all help keep a session tidy and hassle-free when the weather turns a bit naff.
Shelters · Aquatexx protection
A serious bivvy package, whatever the weather throws at you
The big selling point is the multilayer Aquatexx material and its 25,000mm hydrostatic head. That gives the Tempest RS a proper wet-weather focus, ideal for long sessions when rain, damp and generally grotty conditions are all on the cards.
The GRP composite block and Rapid Knuckle System form the backbone of the shelter. Add the supplied Quicksticks, T-pegs and tension strap, and you’ve got a complete setup rather than a bare shell that needs loads of extras before it’s useful.
Inside, four storage pockets and two magnetic rod straps keep the small stuff and rods organised. The clear window adds flexibility, while adaptive ventilation and built-in blackout pigment are welcome when you’re trying to sleep through changing temperatures and early-morning light.
Worth knowing. The sizes are very different in the flesh. The RS 100 is a solo shelter; the RS 150 gives you a useful step up in living space; and the RS 200 is properly roomy. Don’t choose by model number alone — check the footprint and packed length against your swim, barrow and bedchair.
Pick your size
Choose the footprint that matches your fishing
The RS 100 makes the most sense for a solo angler fishing smaller swims or shorter sessions. At 9.4kg for the shelter, it’s the easiest of the three to live with, although the complete packed weight is still 14.6kg and the transport length is 129cm.
The RS 150 is the balanced option. Its 320cm width gives you more room for kit and comfortable living, but it doesn’t go as big as the RS 200. For plenty of carp anglers, this will be the sweet spot for regular overnighters and longer trips.
The RS 200 is for anglers who want to spread out. Its 380cm width and 290cm depth offer a lot of internal space, making it appealing for big bedchairs, extra luggage and extended sessions. Just make sure the swim can take it and your barrow can carry the 20.2kg packed package.
Before you buy
The stuff you’ll want to know on the bank
Does every model use the same main material? Yes. The RS 100, RS 150 and RS 200 all use the 25,000mm hydrostatic-head multilayer Aquatexx material, along with the same core frame approach and built-in design features.
What’s included? You get an oversized heavy-duty carry bag, groundsheet, clear window, tension strap, Quicksticks and T-pegs. That’s a strong starting package and keeps the extra-buy list fairly short.
How much space should you allow? Remember that the pitched dimensions are only part of the story. The packed lengths are 129cm for the RS 100, 141cm for the RS 150 and 163cm for the RS 200, all around 24–25cm wide. Measure your barrow and storage space before handing over the quid.
Worth knowing. If you’re often moving between swims, the RS 100 is the least demanding choice. If you usually settle into one spot for a proper bite-time or multi-day session, the extra room of the RS 150 or RS 200 can be well worth the added weight.
