We don't publish an "ideal level" — nobody can promise one. Flood water is dangerous: if it's up and coloured, stay well back from the edge. Open River Ready
The lowdown
- This is the separate Leigh stretch below the village, not the excluded Medway section above Leigh Barrier.
- The club map pin is 51.194028, 0.216833, putting the water west of Tonbridge and south of Leigh village green.
- Access starts from The Green Lane, roughly 60 yards from the turn into the Leigh Road/Hildenborough Road area.
- Follow the lane beneath the railway bridge to the locked gate. From there, the field leads towards the Medway footbridge.
- If the field is dry, anglers may drive as far as the footbridge across the river. Keep it tidy and don’t take the car along the riverbank.
- Parking is to the right of the footbridge only. If the field is wet, use Green View Avenue and walk beneath the railway bridge to the field.
- The club boundaries are easy enough to pick out: a ditch on the right and a notice board around 300 metres beyond the bridge on the opposite side.
- The setting is proper rural Medway, with the railway bridge, footbridge and Leigh village all helping identify the approach and boundaries.
- The club does not publish the stretch length, peg count, target species, night-fishing details or a separate parking-fee schedule. So there’s no made-up peg map or swim count here.
- There’s no specific method or seasonal guidance published for this water. Best bet is to check the club’s current arrangements before making the trip, especially if you’re sorting a guest ticket.
Methods: No specific methods are published for this Leigh stretch. The club’s water page also gives no swim, depth, flow or seasonal guidance, so tackle and approach details aren’t set out here.
