The full rundown on Ringstead Grange Lakes

Ringstead Grange Lakes is now known as Rosewater Carp Fishery, sitting on Station Road in Ringstead, Kettering, Northamptonshire. It’s a mature gravel pit of roughly 36 acres, with one main lake aimed squarely at carp and tench anglers. A proper bit of water to get your teeth into, rather than a tiny puddle where every fish knows the score.

The lake has weedy margins and deep gullies, so location should be right up the list before bait goes anywhere near the water. Have a good look around, watch for showing fish and take time to work out where the clearer spots and likely patrol routes might be. The margins could be well worth attention too, particularly when tench are on the munch. A bit of patience and careful watercraft should beat blindly lobbing three rods into the middle.

There’s a decent spread of carp to aim for. Resident fish have reportedly been caught from 16 lb to over 42 lb, while introduced carp are approximately 12–24 lb. The fishery reports more than 250 carp in stock, so there’s plenty to keep you interested while you’re working out the lake. Tench to double figures are also present, adding another cracking target as the season gets moving.

Carp and tench fishing opens for the 2026 season on Friday 6 March 2026. Day tickets cost £15 for up to three rods, with 24-hour, 36-hour, 48-hour and 72-hour options available if you fancy settling in for an overnight session. Gates open at 8:00am and close at 8:00pm, and visitors aren’t permitted after 8:00pm, so check the exact arrangements for your ticket when booking. Winter predator fishing is also offered by day ticket.

Some bookings include a short stretch of the River Nene, while exclusive lake bookings include the lake, the river when in season, plus shower and toilet facilities. Secure onsite parking is available, and takeaway food can be delivered to the lake. Shops, a supermarket and fast-food outlets are approximately five minutes away by car, which is handy if the brew supplies run low or you’ve forgotten something daft.

This is one to approach with the right kit and a tidy mindset. Bring a specimen landing net, unhooking mat and carp-care kit, as they’re essential. Barbless hooks are required, with no fixed rigs, leadcore, keepnets, tigernuts or surface fishing allowed. Zig rigs are permitted, and bait boats can be used responsibly without affecting other anglers. Before heading over, give the fishery a ring with the fishery to confirm the booking details, payment by direct bank transfer and anything specific for your chosen session.
