TAA — River Severn, Dale End Park Ironbridge
Dale End Park is a long, straight and deep River Severn stretch at Ironbridge, right in the English Heritage site. TAA specifically picks it out for silvers, chub and pike — a proper mixed-fishing sort of venue.

We don't publish an "ideal level" — nobody can promise one. Flood water is dangerous: if it's up and coloured, stay well back from the edge. Open River Ready
The lowdown
- This is a sizeable bit of river, with the depth running from roughly 1 to 15 feet depending on the season and weather. So, plenty of water to go at.
- The long, straight layout means the flow and depth are the big things to read. Look for the crease, steadier glides and any slack water where fish can sit out of the push.
- Chub and silvers are the main draw here, with pike worth targeting when the conditions are right. A bit of colour in the river can make the chub properly confident.
- Traditional ledgering is bang on for holding a bait in the deeper water. Feeder work and stick-float fishing are also listed by TAA, giving you options as the river changes.
- Maggots, casters, bread and worm cover the classic float game. Meat, pellet, boilies, corn and particle feed are also on the bait list for a more positive approach.
- For pike, deadbaits are suitable, while lures are listed for both pike and perch. Keep an eye on the flow and depth before choosing where to search.
- Ironbridge is a busy tourist spot, and the public car parks can fill early. Parking is pay-and-display, then it’s a walk down to the river.
- Some pegs need steps, and the ground can turn properly sodden when levels rise. It isn’t described as disabled-friendly, so allow a bit of extra faff getting set up.
- The stretch sits in a cracking historic setting, but it’s still working river fishing. Respect the place, take all litter and used line home, and leave no fires or barbecues behind.
- We're not sure on ticket prices for this one — check with the club or local regulations before you leave.
Methods: Traditional ledgering, feeder fishing and stick-float work are all suitable. Use maggots, casters, bread or worm for silvers and chub, with deadbaits for pike and lures for pike or perch.
