The full rundown on Bishampton Angling Club Lakes
Jubilee Fishery was the club-water setup near Bishampton, Worcestershire, tucked off Naunton Beauchamp Road. Evesham Jubilee Angling Society ran and maintained it from around 2002, with the venue growing from one pool into a three-lake complex. A proper little coarse-fishing setup, then, with plenty of history behind it.
The pools were generally known as Jubilee Pool, Withies Pool and a third pool that wasn’t named. Reported fish included carp, crucian carp, skimmers, bream and rudd, so there was a decent mix for match anglers and general coarse fishing. Different pools can fish very differently, of course, so finding out which areas are available would be job one before packing the gear.
Crucians were a notable part of the Jubilee story. Around 200 young fish were stocked through a national conservation project, followed later by roughly 300 more. That’s a cracking bit of work for a much-loved coarse species. Think light, tidy tackle, small baits and a good look around the margins if access is confirmed. Rudd, skimmers and bream also gave anglers other options when the carp weren’t playing ball.
The venue hosted club matches and open matches, with a highest reported match weight of 163lb 1oz. Weights of 30lb to 40lb were also reported from many pegs in better years. That suggests the lakes could get properly on the munch when conditions lined up, although match weights are never a promise for an ordinary session. Bring a couple of approaches, stay mobile where allowed and keep an eye on shallow water, cover and the margins.
Membership was the traditional way in. During its active period, the club had more than 100 members, and members could fish the water as often as they wished under the arrangement. Historical membership value was described as less than £5 per month, but that isn’t a current price. It was not presented as a normal public day-ticket fishery, so don’t just turn up with a seatbox and expect to fish.
The key bit now is access. The club reportedly gave up Jubilee Fishery in 2022 and later continued as a roving angling club rather than running these lakes. This should therefore be treated as a historic Bishampton Angling Club/Jubilee Fishery listing, not a confirmed currently open venue. Before travelling, contact the society and ask who controls the water, whether fishing is allowed, which pool is available and what ticket or membership rules apply.
No current public day-ticket price, lake dimensions, opening hours, season dates, night-fishing permission or individual booking setup was confirmed. The historic contact listed was Phil Seedhouse with the fishery. The address was The Fishery, Naunton Beauchamp Road, Pershore, Worcestershire, WR10 2LG. If access is confirmed, take versatile coarse kit, sensible margin tackle and enough bait options to cover carp, silverfish and crucians.
We're not sure on ticket prices here — we couldn't find reliable, up-to-date prices online, so give the fishery a ring or check their own site before you go.

Bait, rigs & seasons
How we'd fish Jubilee Pool
carp
A neat lead-clip rig over a light scattering of bait
When you don't know the lake well yet, the simplest approach is the best start: a reliable bottom bait rig on a clean spot, with just enough bait to get a bite without filling them up.
- Feel the lead down to find a firm spot, then clip up so you hit it every cast.
- Fish a single boilie or wafter with 20–30 freebies around it.
- Leave one rod roving and recast it to showing fish.
crucian
Delicate float for crucians
Crucian bites are tiny dips and lifts, so a sensitive float shotted right down is what catches them.
- Fish a small insert waggler or pole float over-depth by an inch.
- Corn, maggot or a 4mm pellet on a size 16–18.
- Strike at any small movement — crucians rarely bury the float.
bream
Waggler and groundbait for bream
If they're within waggler range, float fishing over balls of groundbait is a great way to pick off bream.
- Ball in groundbait with casters and chopped worm at the start.
- Set the float a touch over-depth and watch for slow lifts.
- Top up when bites slow.
rudd
Floating baits and shallow float for rudd
Rudd feed high in the water, often near reeds and lilies on warm days. Fish up in the water to them, not on the bottom.
- A light waggler set 1–2ft deep with a single maggot or caster on a size 18.
- Loose-feed little and often to bring them up.
- Floating bread flake works brilliantly in summer.

How we'd fish Withies Pool
carp
Zigs in the warmer months
In clear, deep water carp often sit up in the layers on warm days. A zig is the only way to get a bait in front of them.
- Start at half depth and move up or down a foot at a time until you get bites.
- Black or foam hookbaits work well on bright days.
- Keep it simple — no freebies needed.
carp
A bigger bed of bait at range
On wide, open water the fish move about a lot — a decent bed of bait at range holds a passing group long enough to get a bite.
- Find a clean, hard spot with a marker float and clip up so every cast lands on it.
- Spread the bait with a spod or throwing stick — little and often.
- Mix boilies, pellet and particles so there's always something left for the fish to graze.
- Match the hookbait to the freebies.
