We don't publish an "ideal level" — nobody can promise one. Flood water is dangerous: if it's up and coloured, stay well back from the edge. Open River Ready
The lowdown
- This is one of four River Trent stretches controlled by Wishing Well Anglers Association, which was formed in 2017 by anglers from around Rugeley.
- The official venue name is Willow Meadow Trent. It’s a compact stretch rather than a huge wander, so the features should be fairly easy to get your head around.
- The middle section contains some deep water. That’s the obvious bit to pay attention to when you’re looking for the main holding water.
- Down at the bottom end, the stretch becomes shallower. A useful change of depth within a short venue — proper handy when working out where fish may sit.
- It’s a single-bank fishery. The checked details don’t confirm whether that bank is left or right, so access is tied to the association’s membership information.
- The official page says Willow Meadow holds the same species as the Wolseley Bridge Trent stretch: chub, roach, perch, barbel, dace, grayling, trout and pike.
- There are no confirmed peg numbers, detailed swim descriptions or parking arrangements in the checked details. Full access and parking information comes with membership.
- Night fishing is permitted, with no extra charge on top of membership. That gives members the option of fishing beyond daylight hours without another quid to find.
- WWAA describes its venues as quality river, stillwater and canal fishing around Rugeley, and aims to keep membership around 75 anglers so the waters are never over-fished.
Methods: The confirmed features point to working the deeper middle water and checking the shallower bottom end too. No specific rig, bait or seasonal method is set out in the checked details.

Coarse fishing on English rivers is closed from 15 March to 15 June inclusive. That's the law for coarse fish on rivers — it's not a club rule, and game-fishing seasons work differently.
