A cracking members-only stretch of the Yorkshire Ouse, running from the bottom of Linton Weir to the notice board opposite Kyle Beck near Newton-on-Ouse. YDAA controls the right bank, with proper chub and barbel potential and plenty of river character.

A cracking three-mile day-ticket stretch on the right bank of the Ouse at Nether Poppleton, split into three sections and run by YDAA. It’s varied river fishing, with abundant roach and bream, named hotspots and plenty of room for different approaches.

Thorpe Waterville Upper is a quiet, deep and sluggish River Nene stretch above the bridge where Thorpe Road leaves Thorpe Waterville towards Aldwincle. It’s a proper easy-access bit of river, suited to static fishing from the single bank.

River Ouse Acaster

A very long, members-only stretch of the tidal River Ouse, with YDAA controlling the right bank from Naburn Weir to the Old Salmon Hut. The weir pool is the real draw, with roach, skimmer bream, chub, barbel and river carp on the cards.

A peaceful, accessible River Ure fly-fishing beat from Sleningford Watermill’s main gates down to Mole End. It’s site-side bank only, with shallow, rocky and quicker water around the mill — a proper tidy spot for trout, grayling and salmon.

Finding somewhere to fish near you
Type a town, county or fish into the box up top — something like “Nottingham”, “carp Nottinghamshire” or “day ticket River Trent” — and we'll pull up the waters we've checked nearest that spot. Around Nottingham, for example, you'll find canal stretches, the tidal-free middle Trent and plenty of commercial lakes within a short drive.
Every listing tells you the stuff you actually need before you load the car: what's in each lake or stretch, whether it's a day ticket, club or syndicate water, the house rules and what a ticket costs when we last checked. Rules and prices change, so always give the fishery or club a quick shout before you go.
Rivers, canals and stillwaters fish completely differently. Lakes reward a bit of watercraft and steady feeding; rivers are all about flow, depth and level, so we show live river levels where we can. Use the water-type and fish filters to narrow it down, then open a venue for the lake-by-lake or stretch-by-stretch lowdown.
